Greetings from the Livonia Soccer Club!
We hope this email finds you and your families safe and healthy.
The Board of Directors have been informed by RDYSL as to their decision to postpone the start of the season. At a special board meeting held March 26th, RDYSL approved to move forward with a proposed, shortened season beginning June 21 and ending August 2nd. This proposal offers each team a six game season. RDYSL is asking each club to respond with their interest in this proposal as soon as possible. I am happy to say, thus far, most member clubs are in favor of salvaging a season for our players, should the health environment permit.
Today, in an emergency board meeting, the Livonia Soccer Club Board has approved Livonia Soccer Club to participate in the proposed shortened season, providing county, state and federal health officials have deemed it safe to proceed with contact sports. We will also follow the School Districts recommendations on the resumption of team sports activities.
We do realize that this decision will precipitate many questions from our members regarding scheduled vacations, practices etc. This is truly a fluid situation and you will be receiving communication from your specific coaches regarding player availability during the proposed season. We are anticipating that the league will indeed finalize the proposal once all member clubs have responded; thus, LSC will move forward with our preparations for the June 21 start. All indications are that this will happen. As always, we are at the mercy of the Cornavirus and we must all realize that the season could ultimately be cancelled as we approach June 21st should the health situation not subside.
We are committed to our players and will do everything we can to get our players playing soccer in a safe, healthy environment.
If you have any questions, please call me at 585-727-1068. I would be happy to address any specific questions or concerns.
On behalf of the LSC board, we appreciate your support during these unprecedented times. Stay safe and stay healthy.
