RDYSL Travel League

Season: May – July

Boys and Girls, Grades 3 – 11 (U8 – U17)

Player registration takes place Monday, October 17, 6:30 – 8 p.m., at the Livonia High School cafeteria. Travel forms are available on the club website. A deposit of $50 per player (checks made payable to Livonia Soccer Club) must accompany the form; forms without payment will not be accepted. There are NO REFUNDS.

Those who cannot attend the registration night may mail in their form and check to: Livonia Soccer Club, PO Box 446, Livonia, NY 14487. Deadline is November 30 for mail-in registrations.

Livonia residents have preferred placement over players from surrounding area. Players will be placed on teams according to their school grade/age, and at the discretion of the LSC board of directors. However, due to RDYSL team roster restrictions, some players may be placed as “tournament only” members. Try-outs to determine travel vs. tournament players will be held by members of the LSC board of directors, in agreement with the team coach.

Conduct at Fall Games

This league was started approximately 12 years ago to give the 3-6 graders an opportunity to play fall soccer in a developmental environment. Since GVBBSC and Livonia Soccer Clubs began managing this league we have tried to keep it a fun and enjoyable experience for the players. This year we have had several issues with parents and coaches getting ejected from games. The conduct leading to these ejections is unacceptable. This is a ZERO tolerance league. Let the coaches coach, let the players play, and let the referees officiate the game without feeling threatened. There is a shortage of officials in all sports at the youth and HS level because the abuse they often take drives them away from the games. We ask that you be tolerant of young officials as this league provides a development opportunity for them as well.

As a result of these recent issues, new rules are now in place:

If a coach gets ejected from a game, they will miss the remaining games on that particular day, and all of the games scheduled for the following weekend.
If parents start getting unruly, the referee is to stop the game and come over to the coach. If the coach so chooses, he/she can take a moment to speak to the parents. If the parents remain unruly, the referee will stop the game, and issue a red card to the coach. The coach must then sit out any other games that day and any games the following weekend. The game that had to be stopped will be forfeited.

Spring Clean up

We are pushing the work party at New Life back a week till the 9th due to wet field conditions. Does not look to improve enough by Saturday to make it worthwhile. As soon as the fields are dry enough, we will let teams know so they can begin to practice. They are being checked daily.
